Newark, NJ: The Scholarship Fund for Inner-City Children (SFIC) recently launched the Torch of Learning campaign, a new three-year initiative that aims to annually match the $150,000 the Archdiocese of Newark provides each year to fund its “We Are Living Stones” Catholic Tuition Assistance Program offered through SFIC.

Demarest, NJ: The creative crew that produces “Blueprint,” the Academy of the Holy Angels’ literary magazine, recently received national recognition. Their 2021 publication received the rank of Merit from Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines, a program run by the National Council of Teachers of English.

Newark, NJ: Catholic Schools Week, which runs from Jan. 30 through Feb. 5 this year, is a time to celebrate the importance of Catholic education. Families choose Catholic schools because they are known for high test scores and graduation rates, passionate teachers, and creating a world of opportunities for students.

From the start of the 2020-21 school year, the Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Newark were able to offer primarily in-person learning to students, while following health and safety protocol to minimize pandemic-related disruptions to families.
